The Gambia Police Force has launched a nationwide community safety campaign aimed at reducing crime and strengthening relationships between the police and the communities they serve. The campaign, coordinated by the Community Policing Department, will run across all six administrative regions of The Gambia.
Inspector General of Police, addressing a press conference at GPF Headquarters in Banjul, stated that the campaign focuses on three key areas: crime prevention education, neighbourhood watch establishment, and the promotion of anonymous crime reporting through the GPF tip line.
“We cannot fight crime alone,” the IGP stated. “Every Gambian has a role to play in keeping our communities safe. This campaign is about building the partnerships that make that possible.”
Members of the public are encouraged to participate in community meetings being organised by local police stations in their areas. For more information, contact your nearest GPF station or call +220 422 0001.
