Who We Are

The Gambia Police Force (GPF) is the national civilian law enforcement agency of the Republic of The Gambia. Established to protect citizens, maintain public order, prevent crime, and enforce the law, the GPF serves a population of over 2.7 million people across seven administrative regions.

The Force operates under the authority of the Ministry of Interior and is commanded by the Inspector General of Police. With thousands of trained officers deployed across divisions, stations, and specialised units, the GPF remains The Gambia's primary institution for public safety.
