The Gambia Police Force takes all missing persons reports seriously and responds with urgency. If you believe someone is missing, do not wait — report it to your nearest police station or call our emergency line immediately.
How to Report a Missing Person
You can report a missing person at any time — there is no waiting period required. Provide the following information when making your report:
- Full name, age, and physical description of the missing person
- Last known location and time they were last seen
- What they were wearing when last seen
- A recent photograph if available
- Any known medical conditions or special needs
- Names and contact details of people they may have contacted

Missing persons notices are published with the consent of the family concerned. If you have information about any missing person, please contact us immediately. All information is treated confidentially.

Advice for Families
- Stay calm and contact the police immediately.
- Do not clean or tidy the missing person’s room — it may contain important evidence.
- Gather recent photographs and keep them ready to give to police.
- Inform other family members and close friends, who may have relevant information.
- Keep your phone accessible so police can reach you at any time.
- Follow the guidance of the investigating officer at all times.
